SXSW Showcase Recap

Netflix shares We are still catching up to all the fun we had at SXSW!

A big thank you to the City of Austin for inviting us to be part of their official SXSW 2012 showcase.

Schmillion joined El Tule, Nakia, Lex Land, Marmalakes and Click Clack!! It was truly a highlight of our week.

Schmillion with Kelley Deal, Mike Montgomery & Southpaw Jones

Lucky us! We got to play in an actual garage during SXSW with Kelley Deal and Mike Montgomery of R Ring and Austin’s own Southpaw Jones.

Big shout out to our friend Spike Gillespie for making this happen and to Hill Country Weavers for hosting the KXKP Party. [There's a knitting joke in there, btw.] Here’s a little backstory.

Kelley and Mike were awesome to hang out with. And their music is really cool. Check out R Ring! We feel a little bad that we got to play a full set but R Ring got shut down right after the balloon animals showed up. Find out more here.

Schmillion wins Best U18 – 3 in a row

We are so excited that our fans voted us Best Under 18 Band in the Austin Chronicle Music Poll for the third year in a row. It was so much fun to accept the award at the Austin Music Awards, Wednesday March 14.

Big shout out to Zoe Dahmen, winner of the 2012 McCallum Fashion Show, for making our AMA ensembles. See our own Zoe Graham walking the runway in the winning collection here.

Schmillion, Mobley, Suns of Orpheus at Griffin Music Festival, Ruta Maya 2.25

Schmillion is playing the Griffin School Music Showcase at Ruta Maya on Saturday, 2.25 from 7:00 PM – 11:30 PM

$10 suggested donation. Proceeds from this benefit go towards creating a recording studio for the Griffin School music program. Griffin School does lots of cool stuff for, in and with the Austin community. Come out to support them.
